History of CBBHSC

Cantonment Board Boys’ High School, Cumilla (CBBHSC) has a proud legacy that began in 1956, founded to provide quality education for the children of military personnel stationed in Cumilla Cantonment. Under the patronage of Brigadier K. M. Qurban Ali and with support from the then Cantonment Executive Officer Nazir Ahmed, the institution started as a primary school in a military barrack located east of the CMH. The foundation stone was laid by Brigadier Shirin Khan CBBHSC.

The growth of the school followed a thoughtful progression:

• 1956: Founded as a primary school

• 1960: Elevated to lower secondary (junior high)

• 1963: Became a full secondary school

• 1964: Students first appeared for the SSC (Matriculation) exams
